An exceptionally well-trained general and cosmetic dentist who makes helping others his priority, Dr. Montoya makes dreams come true for his patients. He is most content when giving others a reason to smile. Dr. Montoya is committed to his community and volunteers his time in many different organizations.

Dr. Montoya works with a number of other professional organizations. He is an active member in Rotary International (www.rotary.org) and (www.kiwanis.org) Kiwanis International.  Dr. Montoya is passionate about keeping up with the latest advances in dentistry. To stay on top in his field, Dr. Montoya completes hundreds of hours of postgraduate dental education every year, studying with the best dentists in the world.  Dr. Montoya mentors students from the local universities who are considering the field of dentistry.  He actively commits his time to the Special Olympics (www.specialolympics.org) and the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation (www.komen.org).

Using the latest advancements in dentistry, he helps his patients and the patients of other area dentists have the best experience possible. Dr. Montoya enjoys reading, soccer, golf, tennis, racquetball, photography, staying current within his profession, and spending time with his wife and their two Labradors.

Our guests are very comfortable when they come for a visit.  We understand how to make you feel welcomed.  

We value your time. Our services are limited to only a few guests each day so you will not experience the usual waiting.  Everyone in our office is committed to providing you with attentive, compassionate care in a warm and friendly environment.

It is so important to us to do everything we can to pamper you. We provide our guests with the following:

•  Refreshments such as calming herbal teas, coffee and water.
•  Courtesy telephone
•  Warm blankets
•  General Anesthesia for your comfortable visit
•  Nitrous Oxide (laughing gas) to relieve your anxiety
•  Sedatives

Please inform us if there is something special that you would like during your dental visit and we will try to accommodate you as best we can.  For those guests who would benefit from a prescription, we can plan ahead with calming sedative medication. Some of our guests prefer "sedation dentistry," using a safe little sleeping pill that allows you to comfortably drift in and out of sleep through your entire visit.

I’ve Always Been Afraid of The Dentist!

Many individuals are afraid to have dental work done while they are awake and would prefer to be put asleep during all of their procedures. This is a painless way of getting years of needed dental treatment done in one visit. Dr. John Montoya brings in a board certified anesthesiologist to take care of your sedation needs and fears, providing treatment while you sleep through the procedure. You must have a companion with you in order for you to return to your home safely.

We can also offer you a comfortable gas that you breathe in during your treatment, nitrous oxide, which settles your nerves and helps you relax. This is a great option to relax you during your procedure and the effects are diminished shortly after the unit is turned off which means you are able to drive and return to work or home safely.

Another option is to take a small tablet one hour before your visit our Boulder office to help relax your nerves. You must have a companion with you in order for you to return to you home safely.

Digital radiography stems from the up rise in the digital camera world. This system allows us to take a picture of your teeth and within seconds it appears on a T.V. monitor or computer screen. This technology allows us to significantly reduce the amount of radiation administered to the patient when taking the standard dental radiographs. Each image can be magnified and enhanced to reveal hidden problems. Your safety, comfort and care are our primary concerns. Dr. John Montoya, Boulder cosmetic and family dentist, feels that this is going to be the gold standard for the dental x-rays of the future due to its speed and reduction in radiation.
